DERMAL FILLERS

Dermal filler is a substance that is injected into the dermis of the skin in order to fill or plump the area. Fillers are used to treat wrinkles, creases and restore volume to the face or body. Although there are many different types of fillers, the most popular are hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers. HA is a substance that already exists in the skin; one of its’ main functions is to hydrate and plump the skin.

Dermal fillers can have different structures and consistencies that make them more suitable for treatment of different areas. For example, when choosing the best filler for the lips, we seek a filler that is soft, moves smoothly with facial expression e.g. smiling or puckering of the lips and adds moisture to the tissue. When choosing the best filler for the cheeks, we seek a filler that is firm and volumising, adding better definition to the cheekbones. Filler, that is administered correctly, looks subtle, smooth and natural.

Say goodbye to dry lips thanks to Dermal Fillers

Dry and chapped lips can cause some discomfort in the patient and even embarrassment in some cases of their unsightly appearance. Chapped lips can even cause bleeding if left untreated and can lead to underlying health problems.

What is the first sign of dehydration on dry lips?

The first reaction to the feeling of tightness causes us to moisten the lips with saliva being this option even worse since the humidity of the lips with the external air causes the dry lips to be even greater.

Dermal Fillers are the new option to treat dry lips.

Dermal Fillers allow a total restoration of the volume of your lips and recover the natural shine. The hyaluronic acid characteristic of dermal fillers is the main ingredient of this type of filler. This substance is produced naturally by the body and to which helps hydration of the overall skin. The main function of hyaluronic acid is the attraction and retention of moisture allowing it to recover shape, and volume and enhance the lips.

FAQ

Do fillers hurt?
Depending on your individual pain tolerance, and where you’re using the filler, discomfort levels vary. We use a medical strength topical numbing agent to make all filler injections as comfortable as possible. Most people report little more than mild discomfort.
How much does filler cost?
We carry a range of different fillers for different facial areas and concerns. Most people use at least one syringe, depending on the area being treated, and the thicker/longer-lasting the product is, the more expensive it is.

As with Botox, we advise a consultation with Dr. Juan Corado in order to get the most accurate quote of how much your treatment will cost.

How long will my filler last?
Again, this is entirely case-specific. It will always depend on what product you purchase and the area you are treating, as well as how quick your metabolism is. As a general rule, fillers last between 6-12 months. The thickest fillers may last longer — generally 10-12 months. When you are treated, we can give you an estimate of how long your specific filler might last.
Will I be bruised or swollen after my filler appointment?
Bruising and swelling are definite possibilities with any filler. We provide pre and post care instructions to you to minimize your chances of bruising as best we can. We will provide ice to you after your appointment to bring swelling down, and can advise natural supplements to aid in this process as well. Any swelling or bruising that does occur will normally resolve itself in one to two weeks. We encourage you to follow up with us if you have any concerns.
Will I see results immediately after my appointment?
With filler, results can be instantaneous. Given that filler injections cover a larger area than Botox, you may have some bruising or swelling that persists for a short while, particularly in the lip region. You can expect this swelling to go down and see true results after 1-2 weeks.
Is filler reversible?
All the fillers we offer are Hyaluronic Acid-based fillers, which are reversible.
